Third Street to First Christian Church, Oaktown, Knox County, 1992

Oaktown is a small town in northern Knox County. When this photograph was make the town appeared to be heading into dire straits. The only commerce that was evident was the semi truck that had to leave town to make money. The street leads directly to the front door of the church, a place of refuge and hope. I photographed this scene such that the empty sky above the town reflects the emptiness of the town.
